What we collect
DrivePlenty LLC (“we”, “us”) collects little, because the product needs little. No money passes through the platform, so we never see payment details. What we do hold:
- Monthly update subscribers. The address you give us, used for a confirmation and about one update a month.
- Accounts. For drive organizers and volunteers: a name, an email address, and a password (stored hashed — we cannot read it).
- Donation details. What a donor chooses to share — for example a name to show with their gift — and what volunteers record when boxes arrive.
- Notes and messages. Encouragement notes and anything you write to us.
- Ordinary server logs, kept briefly, for keeping the site working and abuse out.
What we do with it
We use this data to run drives: showing progress publicly — the public page shows aggregate counts, and a donor’s name appears there only if that donor chose to show it — sending the emails you asked for, and keeping records a drive can stand behind. We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising, and we do not use your data to profile you.
Who we share it with
The receiving charity: we do not pass a donor’s contact details to the charity benefiting from a drive unless the donor has explicitly agreed to that. Declining changes nothing about the donation.
The company hosting a drive sees the same aggregate progress the public page shows — never individual donor information.
Recipient families: encouragement notes are read by us first, and the ones we approve are printed and delivered with the goods. Don’t put anything in a note you wouldn’t hand to a stranger — including your contact details.
Service providers that host the platform and deliver its email process data on our behalf: our hosting provider (Vercel), our database host (Neon), and our email service (Resend). Each receives only what its job needs.
Our scheduler:the booking page at /book embeds Calendly. What you type there — your name, your email, and your answers to its questions — goes to Calendly under its own privacy policy, and the embed may set Calendly’s own cookies in your browser. Nothing about a booking is collected by the embed on our behalf; we see it in the calendar invitation, the same as you.
Retailers:when you follow a retailer link, you leave our site and the retailer’s own privacy policy applies. We are not told what you bought there, or whether you bought anything at all.
Beyond that, we disclose personal data only if the law requires it.
Analytics, without cookies
When analytics are enabled, we use Plausible, a privacy-respecting tool that uses no cookies and stores no personal identifiers — which is why this site has no cookie banner. The only cookies we set are the ones that keep organizers and volunteers signed in; the one third party that can set any of its own is the scheduler embedded on the booking page, and only if you open it.
Children
DrivePlenty is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to clayton@driveplenty.com and we will delete it.
Retention, and your choices
Subscriber emails are kept until you unsubscribe — every update carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately. Drive records are kept because they are a drive’s history; corrections are marked and logged rather than deleted, so totals stay honest.
To see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, write to clayton@driveplenty.com. We will do what you ask unless a drive’s own records require otherwise (a recorded donation stays in its drive’s totals), and we will tell you which it is.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so by email to account holders and update subscribers, and the date above will move.
